Jordan Fletcher is always looking for new real estate development opportunities for Gorge Holdings Inc. 

He has several exciting projects in development in cities throughout southern Ontario, including St. Catharines and Welland. 

These are some of the highlights of Jordan’s recent work as President of Gorge Holdings Inc.

Residential Building in Downtown St. Catharines 

The city centre of St. Catherines needs more residential developments, and Jordan currently has plans to deliver one.

The idea is to develop an existing parking lot on Ontario Street, between Church street and King Street of St. Catharines. Already owned by Gorge Holdings, the one-acre lot is in an ideal location for a new residential building.  

While the development is still in the early stages, Jordan’s plan would be to develop a luxury rental building consisting of 100 to 150 units. The building would have protected parking — either underground or podium — and storage space.  Jordan believes the building would be attractive to young professionals, empty nesters and retirees. The ground floor would likely allow for commercial spaces.

The development might help boost activity in St. Catharines’ downtown, helping local businesses increase their customer base. With people living downtown, Jordan says businesses will see the benefit of opening up a location in the area. 

Single-dwelling Residential Lots in Welland

Gorge Holdings Inc. plans to service 25 new residential single dwelling lots in Welland, Ontario. 

Jordan said the new lots have an excellent location for attracting people considering a move to Welland. The site is located one block from Niagara Street, which has many dining options, as well as cafes, groceries stores, and shops.  

The property backs onto a commercial plaza already owned by Gorge Holdings Inc. that includes a Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Firehouse Subs, Sleep Country and Whole Health Pharmacy.

With nearby amenities and parkland, Jordan feels confident about this development. 

“I expect servicing to be completed this summer and I look forward to working with a home builder to offer great quality homes for this location,” Jordan said. 

New Commercial plaza in Welland, Ontario

Gorge Holdings Inc. recently completed the construction of a new retail/commercial shopping plaza, also in Welland, in the summer of 2021. 

“Gorge Holdings has owned the property for many years and with the increase in residential development, retailers were looking at expanding and entering into the Welland market,” Jordan said.  

Gorge Holdings separated about 2 acres of the property fronting on Niagara Street to develop the two buildings. One building was built to accommodate a Starbucks drive thru, and the second building has multiple units currently occupied by Sleep Country, Firehouse Subs, Pizza Hut, and Whole Health Pharmacy.  

It’s a great addition to Gorge Holdings’ portfolio, and Jordan said he’s happy and proud of the final result.
